De eerste editie in 1993 van het Pinkstertoernooi is niet vergelijkbaar met het Pinkstertoernooi van nu. Toen een toernooi op een zaterdagmiddag met 32 deelnemers (16 mannen en 16 vrouwen), nu het grootste LGBTQ+ tennistoernooi van Europa met vier dagen tennisplezier.
De afgelopen jaren is Frank Basjes als (technisch) toernooidirecteur de drijvende kracht geweest voor dit jaarlijkse hoogtepunt. Dat deed hij natuurlijk niet alleen, maar samen met een operationeel directeur en vele vrijwilligers. Afgelopen jaar was Wilko van den Born de operationeel directeur en we zijn blij dat hij in 2024 deze taak opnieuw op zich wil nemen.
Zonder technisch directeur geen toernooi.

The first edition of the Pinkster Tournament in 1993 is not comparable to today's Pinkster Tournament. Then a tournament on a Saturday afternoon with 32 participants (16 men and 16 women), now the largest LGBTQ+ tennis tournament in Europe with four days of tennis fun.
In recent years, Frank Basjes, as (technical) tournament director, has been the driving force for this annual highlight. Of course, he did not do this alone, but together with an operational director and many volunteers. Last year, Wilko van den Born was the operational director and we are happy that he wants to take on this task again in 2024.
No tournament without technical director.
We zijn als bestuur van Smashing Pink naarstig op zoek naar een technisch directeur die de 30e editie van het Pinkstertoernooi mogelijk maakt. Frank heeft bij de laatste editie aangegeven wel ondersteuning te willen bieden, maar niet meer in de rol van toernooidirecteur.
En het werkt heel simpel. Geen technisch toernooidirecteur = Geen Pinkstertoernooi in 2024. Dat mag toch niet gebeuren? Dus wie wil deze eervolle taak in 2024 op zich nemen?

As the board of Smashing Pink, we are urgently looking for a technical director who will make the 30th edition of the Pinkster Tournament possible. Frank indicated at the last edition that he wanted to provide support, but no longer in the role of tournament director.
And it works very simple. No technical tournament director = No Pinkster Tournament in 2024. We can't let that happen, can we? So who wants to take on this honorable task in 2024?
